Lila the Mini Rio
Lila is a completely standard Mini Rio - one of the last carburettor fed cars, but one of the first with a 'cat'. 750 were built for the UK market only and the Rio was based on the existing Sprite model (steel wheels, fixed rear windows, 2 clock dash) but with some fancy new metallic colours - Polynesian Turquoise and (Lila's colour) Pearlescent Carribean Blue. Lila has lived in the same street since she was bought in 1993 by my neighbour. She drove Lila for 17500 miles over 9 years (averaging around 40 miles a week). Then in April 2002 she sold this almost immaculate Mini Rio (with ridiculously low mileage) to me for a very reasonable sum! Since then her mileage has increased quite dramatically - over 45000 and counting (October 2003). She is now a veteran of one International Mini Meet and two Thistle Runs.
